Dick Rhine, 78, passed away at his home Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013. He was born the son of Charles Walter and Marjorie Pauline (Miller) Rhine on Feb. 1, 1935.
Dick was a 1952 graduate of Kokomo High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as an electrician for over 60 years and was a member of IBEW 873. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and growing a large garden every year to share with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed regular fishing trips with his son-in-law, Eric Weaver.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Eaker, Denver, Richard Rhine, Kokomo, Dodie (Eric) Weaver, Kokomo; grandchildren, Daryn Sturch, Dustyn Shrock, Jake Weaver, Rick Rhine, Jon Rhine, Suzie Rhine; great-grandchildren, Gavyn Fritz, Bryanne Sturch; sister, Jeanne Sipahigil; nephew, Stuart Sipahigil; and niece, Sibel Bolser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law, Brian Eaker, and two infant daughters.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Chaplain Virgil Barker officiating.
