In retirement, Evelyn regularly wintered in Florida, collected stuffed bears and angel figurines, watched her favorite TV shows, “Dancing With the Stars,” “Wheel of Fortune,” “Golf Channel” and “Lawrence Welk.” She moved to Oakwood (Dayton), Ohio, five years ago from Kokomo to reside with son Bob McCann.
Evelyn is survived by her son, the Rev. Dr. Bob McCann, Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Connie Cuddy, St. Charles, Mo., Cathy (Dennis) Zampitella, Ballwin, Mo., and Craig (Susan) McCann, Kansas City, Kan.; eight great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandkids; one sister in-law, Barbara Moss; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Bill McCann; one granddaughter, Christine McCann-Boatman; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harry and Audry Moss, Harold Moss; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma (Lee) Bone and Mary (Joe) Korby; and two stepsisters and husbands, Waneta (Virgil) Carter and Marguerite (Art) LaDow.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with the Rev. Dr. Bob McCann, the Rev. Nancy Blevins and the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the Jerome/Union Township Cemetery, east of Greentown. Friends may visit with her family from 10:30 a.m. until noon Friday at the funeral home.
