---- — Wayne R. “Roger” Riggs passed away at 12:36 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born the son of John Raymond and Beulah Lee (Neece) Riggs on May 10, 1938, in Monterey, Calif. On Dec. 4, 1960, he married Jamakie Annalou Ford at First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo, and she survives him.
Roger was a 1957 graduate of Brecksville High School in Ohio. He served his country as a second airman in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He retired from Delco Electronics in 1999 after 30 years of service. Prior to that, he had also worked at Med-O-Bloom Dairy. His memberships included First Church of the Nazarene, UAW Local 292, Boy Scouts of America, and Girl Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife; children, David L. (Janelle) Riggs, Kokomo, Pamela L. (Greg) Wainscott, Mentone; grandchildren, La’el R. (Matt) Bender, Brandon A. Wainscott; brothers, John R. (Sally) Riggs Jr., Pennsylvania, Paul R. (Joanne) Riggs, Florida, William D. (Kay) Riggs, Texas; and sister-in-law, Donna Riggs, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald F. Riggs.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Hussain and Community Howard Regional Health staff for the wonderful care they gave Roger.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., with Pastor David Leeder officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
