---- — Robert D. O’Bannon, 54, Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Community Howard Regional Health. Mr. Robert D. O’Bannon was born Oct. 1, 1959, the son of Booker T. O’Bannon and Daisy L. Jones O’Bannon in Summerville, Tenn.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1977. He was an avid sports fan. He was united in holy matrimony to Norris Woodard O’Bannon on June 19, 1993. He had been employed as a machine operator at Endolex Co. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Norris E. Woodard-O’Bannon; sons, Shandon Redd, Rockford, Ill., Cedric Woodard, Kokomo; daughters, Ranita Kirkwood, Harvey, Ill., Kiley Woodard, Kokomo; brothers, Jerry Jones (Betty), Jamesville, Wis., Darrell O’Bannon (Belinda), Atlanta, Ga., stepbrother, A.C. Broomfield (Helen), Beloit, Wis.; sisters, Barbara A. Woods, Freeport, Ill., Alice Parker (James), Mayfield, Ky., Lucille Jones and Linda Jones, both of Rockford, Ill.; and special aunt, Dixie Borthwick (Floyd), Atlantic Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Ariel R. Woodard, Reniah Kirkwood, Azhanae Kirkwood, Elexis Kirkwood, E Miracle Kirkwood, Shandon Redd Jr. and Channon Redd.
His parents, grandparents, two grandchildren, and one stepsister preceded him in death.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Straitgate House of Prayer. Pastor Jack Woodard will be the officiant and Pastor Robert Foard will be the eulogist. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
