Larry W. Cox, 61, Russiaville, passed away at 7:44 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 18, 1952, in Kokomo, to the surviving Grover and Mary Alice (Guiney) Cox. On Aug. 11, 1973, Larry married Teresa Collins and she survives.
Larry graduated from Western High School in 1970 and from Indiana University in 1974. Larry worked for Reed Contracting in Kokomo. He had his private pilot’s license. A second generation pilot, Larry loved to fly airplanes. Larry attended First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kokomo. He was wise, kind, hardworking, full of integrity and faithfully devoted his life to the Lord and serving others. Larry loved providing for and spending time with his family and will be missed by many.
Larry is survived by his wife, Teresa Cox, Russiaville; daughters, Michelle (James) Byrn, Peru and Cheryl Cox, Russiaville; son, Matthew Cox, Indianapolis; grandson, Grayson Byrn; parents, Grover and Mary Alice Cox, Florida; sister, Shirley (David) Martz, Texas; and favorite aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life service for Larry at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 2000 W. Jefferson St., Kokomo, with Pastor Jerry Van Auken officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo.
