Margaret 'Margot' E. Rush

June 22, 1934 - Jan. 5, 2014

Margaret (Margot) E. Rush, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2014, at IU Health Tipton Hospital in Tipton. She was born June 22, 1934, in Logansport, to Cedric and Ina (Firth) Sparks. On Aug. 9, 1957, Margaret was married to Dale F. Rush, in Ft. Monmouth, N.J. and they shared 56 years of marriage together.

She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postal clerk. She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1952 then worked for Haynes-Stellite Corporation in Kokomo. Margaret attended the Windfall Christian Church in Windfall and loved reading, knitting, crocheting, swimming and was a member of the YWCA. Margaret loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a former member of the Stellar Club, Daffodil Days Committee, a former Cub Scouts den mother and Brownie troop leader.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Rush, Windfall; two children, Dalita (Kurt) Miller, Windfall, and Larry (Jamie) Rush, Elwood; her grandchildren, April (Randy) Byrd, Joshua (Anna) Miller, Krystal Rush and her boyfriend, Matthew Champion, Angela Rush, Kira Miller and Shelby Rush; her sister, Saralee Motley, Vincennes; a brother-in-law, Lowell (Rachel) Rush; and sister-in-law, Sarah May Rush.

Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Timothy; a sister, Doris Saling; a brother and sister-in-law, Barbara and Ovid Larr; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Windfall Christian Church, 211 N. Independence St. in Windfall. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Windfall Christian Church. The Rev. Carl Roudebush will be officiating. Interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall.
