Maxine A. Palmiero, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Genieva, Pa., to Earl Vance and Dolly (Wood) Cedar. On May 13, 1941, she married Patsy Charles Palmiero, and he preceded her in death.
She was active in her community and enjoyed doing crafts, volunteer work, and making quilts for AIDS babies. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Thonotosassa Methodist Church in Thonotosassa, Fla.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann Bunge and her husband Tom, Littleton, Colo., and Angelina Mary Palmiero, Falls Church, Va.; son, Anthony James Palmiero and his wife Mary, Atlanta, Ind.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Petrillo and Mary Burger; one brother, David Cedar; and her significant other, Jim Gohn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Earl Cedar Jr.; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Following the service, refreshments will be served from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
