Dorothy Ione Salsbery, 87, Lebanon, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Hickory Creek at Lebanon. She was born March 8, 1926 in Noblesville, to the late M. H. and Gertie Evelyn (Stephenson) Davis. On Jan. 5, 1946, in Sheridan, she married Omer B. Salsbery, who survives.
Dorothy was the salutatorian of her 1944 graduating class at Sheridan High School. She attended Indiana Business College and received a degree in 1946.
Survivors include two children, Yvonne M. Keffer and husband Daryl, Jamestown, and Dean A. Salsbery and wife Linda, Winfield, Ala.; four grandchildren, Christina M. Ball and husband John, Greenwood, Gregory L. Keffer, New York, N.Y., Tammy Jones and husband Greg, Seymour, Brian Eggeman and wife Pam, Seymour; and four great-grandchildren, Megan Ball, Jacob Ball, Heather Jones, Seymour, and Kyle Jones, Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Emery Davis; and three sisters, Annetta Alice Newby, Florence Elizabeth Durbin and Rosalie Evelyn Kincaid.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with the Rev. Harry Pitts officiating. Visitation is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary in Lebanon. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.
