Laura Jane Lawson Sidell Stabler, 96, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Sandy Spring, Md. Jane was born April 19, 1916, in Hoard County, the eldest of six children born to James B. and Lavanche Hollingsworth Lawson. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1934 before moving to the Washington, D.C., area, where she married Carl R. Sidell in 1937.
The couple had two sons, John Lawson Sidell and James Rhodes Sidell.
In 1960, they moved to Sandy Spring, Md., where Jane worked as a bank teller.
Mr. Sidell passed away in 1974, and in 1977, she married Stanley P. Stabler of Brookeville, Md. Mr. Stabler died in 1999.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by both husbands, her younger son, James, three brothers and a sister.
She is survived by son John, Winchester, Va.; stepsons, Drew Stabler, Laytonsville, Md., and Robert Stabler, Brookeville, Md.; brother, David Lawson, Leesburg, Fla.; and four grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren and numerous friends.
Interment will be private at Friends Cemetery, Sandy Spring, Md.
