Dorothy Ellen “Dot” Sprinkle, 88, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Reflections Memory Care in Kokomo. She was born March 2, 1925, in Marion, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Peters) Walls. On Jan. 17, 1946, she married Harmon G. Sprinkle, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1994.
She was a three-time cancer survivor who had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed helping others. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially at holidays and family get-togethers. She also loved animals, enjoyed fishing, traveling and was an avid reader. She and her husband enjoyed collecting antiques and turned their hobby into a business, owning both the Totem Pole Trading Postand Sprinkle’s Antiquesin Swayzee.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Wayne) Spratt, Kokomo; granddaughter, Angie (Mike) Roe, Kokomo; grandson, David Spratt, Noblesville; great-granddaughter, Lacey Roe; great-grandson, Jordan Roe; sisters, Betty Wintrode, North Manchester, Kate Brown, Texas, and Mildred McVey, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Von.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Rev. Becky Sundquist officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
