Bernice B. Clark, 88, Kokomo, passed away at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at North Woods Village Health Care. She was born April 12, 1925, in Watauga, Ky., to Henry Henderson and Litha (Shelton) Neal. Bernice married Earl Buck in 1939, and he passed away in 1943. She was remarried to Marion W. Clark on Feb. 9, 1945, and he passed away Sept. 28, 1986.
Bernice worked for St. Joseph Hospital in housekeeping for 44 years until she retired. She loved crocheting, working word search puzzles. In her early years she worked for Regal foods, where she loved peeling tomatoes.
Survivors include children, Dave (Karen) Buck, Greentown, Beverly (Richard) Wrightsman, Kokomo, Mary Collins, Kokomo, Donneta (Ivan) Mumaugh, Center, Peggy McFarland, Kokomo; close friends, Chris Hunter, Shirley Scalf, and Wanda Wonder; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and loved her dog, Babs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Litha Neal; husbands, Earl Buck and Marion Clark; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with her grandson, Pastor Mike Buck, officiating services. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call upon the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln Road Chapel.
