Betty Jo Wines, 76, Windfall, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Kokomo on March 24, 1937, to the late Glen and Kathryne (Korby) Sanders.
Betty graduated from Kokomo High School in 1955. Betty worked as a Realtor for C.F.D. Realty, but her primary focus was her family. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren, swimming and playing games with them while referring to herself as “Betty Blue.” Betty was a member of the First Salem Baptist Church and also attended Oakford Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her husband, Dan L. Wines; her children, Jeff Wines and Julie Wines; grandchildren, Kerri Griffin, Lori (Brad) Taylor, Rachel Wines and Ashley (Matt) Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Mynatt, Emma Mynatt, Brody Anderson, and Kamryn Taylor.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Kathryne Sanders.
All of Betty’s friends and family are welcome to join together for a time of visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. There will be a funeral service for Betty at the mortuary at 2 p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Jesse Horner officiating. Following the funeral service, we will be taking Betty to her final resting place in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo.
