Katie L. Gourley, 83, Kokomo, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Jefferson Manor. She was born Jan. 24, 1930, in White County, Miss., to Bonnie Callis and Mary (Larue) Hardin. On Sept. 17, 1949, she married Tom Gourley, and he passed away Feb. 22, 2003.
She retired from Delco Electronics after 30 years of service. She was a faithful supporter of her husband’s softball games. She was a member of UAW Local 292 and Kokomo Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include three daughters, Toni (Michael) Ryan, Teresa (David) Bourff and Jackie Reed, all of Kokomo; six grandchildren, Tom, Jeff, Brian, Jason, Shannon and Ashley; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one granddaughter, Jennifer; four brothers; and one sister.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Nickie Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
