---- — Pamela K. Morehead, 56, Kokomo, passed away at 4:18 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at IU Health University Hospital. She was born on Jan. 23, 1957, in Kokomo, to Edward Gibson and Jacquelyn (Morrison) Weybrant. She married Rick Morehead in Kokomo on Jan. 1, 2000, and he survives.
Pamela graduated from Kokomo High School in 1975 and retired from the Kokomo Post Office in 2013 after 27 years of service. She was a member of the APW union. She enjoyed attending gospel music concerts, casinos and watching sports events, especially watching her grandson play basketball. She was also very involved in her sons’ sporting events as they grew up. She was very involved in the Carcinoid Support Group and Relay for Life. Pamela had a special bond with her stepfather, Phillip Weybrant, who was more of a father rather than a stepfather. She was an inspiration to her husband, two sons and entire family.
Pamela is survived by husband, Rick; parents, Phillip and Jacquelyn Weybrant; two sons, Joshua Grant McFarland and wife Neva, and Matthew Cody McFarland, Windfall; stepson; Aaron Scott Morehead, Fort Wayne; daughter of Rick Morehead, Erica Renee; grandson, Kyler Grant McFarland, Sharpsville; step-grandson, Darren Anderson and wife Bridget, Muncie. She is also survived by two brothers, Edward Gibson II and wife Nancy, and Mark Allen Gibson and wife Sue; a sister, Rebecca Cecil; and stepsister, Sandy Hadley and husband Paul, Fort Wayne. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, Andrea (Andrew), Jennifer, Kaicy (Derek), Arelia, Lauren, Kristen, Edward (III), Zach, Drew, Trevor (Kristen), Travis; great-nephews, Kaden and Ethan; and great-niece, Kiera.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; an aunt; a cousin; her mother-in law and father-in-law; and her sons’ father, Tim McFarland.
The funeral service will be held for Pamela at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, officiated by Pastor Jon Tice. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery. Pamela’s family will be receiving relatives and friends for a time of visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
