Dorisann Gardineer, 72, Peru, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. She was born Sept. 26, 1941, in Alhambra, Calif., to the late Albert and Virginia Baldwin. On Nov. 19, 1960, she married her husband of 53 years, George R. Gardineer, who survives.
Dorisann spent much of her time at home raising her children, but also worked as a school bus driver and was a newspaper route carrier for the Kokomo Tribune for over 15 years. She also worked for a time at JoAnn Fabrics, and retired from Krogers Grocery Store.
She and husband George enjoyed traveling, and she especially loved the Great Lakes area and the northern states. She was an avid reader, and spent many hours of her time learning more about history, science and the wonders of the world. She was a beautiful seamstress and a wonderful cook who loved to share her talents with her family.
In addition to her husband, George, Dorisann is survived by her children, George S. Gardineer and wife Bonnie, Peru, Robin Harper and husband, Roger, Logansport, and Samantha Gardineer and fiancé Allen, Townsend, Tenn.; grandchildren, Rebecca Gardineer, George Gardineer Jr., Fayne Lawson, Seth Harper and Mollie Harper; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be having a private memorial service to be determined at a later date.
