Marjorie R. “Marge” Shipp, 79, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. She was born Nov. 3, 1934, the daughter of Harold E. and Doral (Johnson) Moon in Twelve Mile.
Marge attended Logansport High School and went on to have a career in International Sales with Haynes International for over 22 years before retiring. She enjoyed going to all of her children and grandchildren’s sports and activities, gardening, decorating the Designer Show Home, bowling and travel.
She is survived by her children, Penny (Chuck) Paxton, Gary (Linda) Shipp, Robert “Lane” (Jan) Shipp, Toni (Dave) Fox, Terri (Edward) Hellmann and Stacy Harper; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Moon; and a sister, Emma Lou Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charlotte Graf, Marilyn Bowman, Devon Moon and Helen Wright.
Marge’s family would like to thank Dr. Melanie Bozard and her staff for her friendship, loving care and bright smile. Special thanks also to St. Joseph Hospital Staff on Medical/Pediatric 2nd floor and Medical 4th floor. They treated the family with dignity and loving care during the many stays over the past two years; and Marge’s children consider them part of their family.
Memorial services celebrating Marge’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
