Eugene Glen Kiehl, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born July 23, 1929, in Wyandotte, to the late Glen and Hazel Kiehl. In May 1950 he married Doreen McMurtric, who survives.
Eugene earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lawrence Tech and spent the majority of career working as an industrial engineer for Chrysler Corp. During his 25 year career with Chrysler, Eugene and his family spent time in Switzerland, England and France.
Eugene loved music and played piano and clarinet. He was also involved with the Republican Party and Civic Theatre. Along with being an avid reader, Eugene enjoyed technology and owned computers since the technology was new. Most of all he will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen Kiehl; son, Russell (Suzanne) Kiehl, Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, Margaret (Tim) Szczykutowicz, Wisconsin, and Gretchen Kiehl, Rochester, N.Y.; great-grandson, Luke Szczykutowicz; as well as a brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
