Jean L. Bennett, 91, Bloomington, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville. She was born on July 31, 1921, in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Dimmer and Lois Beauchamp. She, along with her late husband, Harold “Doc” Bennett, were owners of the Bennett Stone Co. in Bloomington.

Jean was a member of Stoneybrook Community Church of God.

Survivors are a brother, Lloyd (Sue) Beauchamp, Frankfort; two nieces, Kathy (Ron) Deremiah, Indianapolis, and Ronda (James) Reese, Westerville, Ohio; seven nephews, John (Phyllis) Garhart, Kokomo, Terry (Debra) Beauchamp, Kokomo, Rodney (Susan) Beauchamp, Michigantown, Randy Beauchamp, Frankfort, John “J.T.” Sparks, Indianapolis, Terry Rone and Richard Bennett, both of Bloomington; several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis Bennett, and a sister, Nola Kelly.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 Gourley Pike, Bloomington. Celebration of life services will follow at 2 p.m. The Revs. Steve McCart, David Eudaly and Roland Holtsclaw will officiate. Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
