Doyle G. Walden, 81, Kokomo, passed away at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born July 2, 1931, in Johnson County, Indiana, to the late Lester and Violet (Slevin) Walden. On May 10, 1952, in Kokomo, he married Beverly Duke, who survives.
Doyle was a draftsman for PPG for more than 35 years, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, all kinds of sports and getting together with friends to play cards. Doyle was also an active member of Fairfield Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Walden; a son, Matthew (Kristy) Walden; grandchildren, Caressa Walden and Riley Walden; sisters, Betty Richardson, Rose (Sam) Swann, Alice Walden, and Phyllis Walden; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lester W. Walden and Clarence Walden; and a sister, Evelyn Wood.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Keith Cramer officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, with military rites provided by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
