Gordon (Gypsy) J. Waligorski, 76, Delphi, died at 2:25 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness.
Born on October 5, 1936, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Barney and Josephine (Motyka) Waligorski. He married Nancy Marie Rose on Nov. 10, 1964, in Chicago, and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2007. Gordon retired as a self-employed industrial designer/inventor for Artech Corp.
Surviving are two daughters, Amy Fetterling (husband, Jimmy), Battle Ground, and Susan Klopfenstein (husband, Eric), West Lafayette; a brother, Conrad Waligorski (wife, Ann), Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Caitlin Rose Klopfenstein and Levi Lee Klopfenstein; and Gordon’s fiancée, Catherine Trout, Kokomo.
He loved and owned more than 42 motorcycles of all kinds. He was a collector of collections and historian. He enjoyed bonsai trees, cruisin’ the Caribbean, sail boats, sidecars and a proud member of the N.R.A.
Gypsys’ favorite colors were orange and red, his girls request you wear one of these colors in his memory.
A Memorial service will be held 6 p.m. with a two-hour prior visitation on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Celebrant Cyndy Shafer officiating.
