Robert W. Robey, 81, Kokomo, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at his home in Kokomo. He was born on Jan. 28, 1931, to Arthur and Dora (Creson) Robey in Howard County. Robert married Judith Chapman on March 23, 1951, in West Middleton, and she survives.
Robert was a 1950 graduate of Western High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He was a member of New London Friends Church and worked for Haynes Stellite International in Kokomo for 30 years and Acraline in Tipton for 17 years.
Robert was active with the Russiaville Little League for 14 years. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan and loved bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Robey, Kokomo; three sons, Gary (Kelly) Robey, Russiaville, Jeff (Karie) Robey, Oklahoma City, Mike (Nicki) Robey, Muncie; four grandchildren, Jennifer Robey, Nicholas Robey, Kevin Robey, Ken Dale Gober; two step-grandchildren, Joey Duncan and Kyla Duncan; two sisters, Mary Meador and Betty Church, both of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Robey; brothers, Russell Robey and Clarence Robey; and sister, Harriett Taylor.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral services on Thursday at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, with military rites.
