Larry E. Wolfe 73, Bringhurst, passed away at 12:34 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his residence. Larry was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Kokomo to the late Franklin and Annebel (Roe) Wolfe. In 1959, he married Beverly A. Smeltzer, who survives. On June 12, 1970, he married Vada J. Harns Fleming, who passed away Jan. 25, 1995. Then on Sept. 22, 1998, he married his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Long, who survives.
Larry graduated from Kokomo High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1963. He worked at Delco Electronics and retired in 1994, after 32 years of service. He worked as a stock chaser at Plants 1 and 5. Larry was a member of the VFW Post 1152. He loved to golf, bet on horses, travel, be with family and take care of his yard.
Survivors include three daughters, Terri Miller, Camden, Paulette Young, Burlington, and Sandra Stasierowski, Valparaiso; three sons, Larry Wolfe Jr., Logansport, Rodney Wolfe, Mansfield, Texas, and Robert Fleming, Logansport; three brothers, Glendon Wolfe, Flora, Gary Wolfe, Cutler, Roger Wolfe, Flora; a stepdaughter, Gine J. Fewell, Kokomo; a stepbrother, John Lineberry, Louisville, Ky.; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, also at the mortuary, with the Rev. Kenneth Spangler officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. There will be full military rites provided by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites team at the cemetery.
