---- — Bette J. Kellogg, 84, Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the Emeritus at HillenVale in Mount Vernon. She was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Kokomo to the late Buell and Esse Mae (Parker) Bennett.
She was employed by the City of Mount Vernon for 27 years, finally serving as tax administrator in the city income tax office. Bette attended Gay Street United Methodist Church, loved to spend time reading, and helping out with the mental health association of Knox County. She liked playing bridge and was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Kokomo Chapter 89.
Bette is survived by her sons Jeff (Andrea) Kellogg, Millersburg, Ohio, Rick (Sandra) Kellogg, Fairfax Station, Va., Mike (Jan) Kellogg, Snohomish, Wash.; a daughter, Diana (Jerry Williams) Goodnight, Kokomo; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny Bennett, Muncie, and Don Bennett, Kokomo; and a sister, Sandy Gamblin, Kokomo.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Kellogg, and a sister, Ramona Bateman.
The family will observe a private graveside service, with Pastor Susan Stevens officiating, at a later date.
