Ralph Rayl

— May 6, 1911 - March 31, 2010

Ralph Rayl, 98, Kempton, died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at his home. He was born May 6, 1911, in Tipton County, to Beecher and Maude (Cooper) Rayl. He married Delorous (Leckrone) on March 2, 1935. She died Aug. 2, 1976. He then married Emily (Carter) Robertson on Sept. 15, 1977. She died May 21, 2007.

He graduated from Prairie Township High School in 1929. He was a farmer in Prairie Township and also worked for the Tipton County Highway, the State Highway and Tri Central Schools. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by two sons, John and wife Janet Rayl, and Philip and wife Anabeth Rayl; stepchildren, Conrad Robertson and wife Peggy, Kokomo, David Robertson and wife Beverly, Mich., Denny Robertson, Russiaville, and Judith Mock and husband Duane, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Mark and wife Martha Rayl, Jay and wife Lori Rayl, Jovon and wife Lisa Rayl, all of Tipton County, and Bill and wife Patty Utsler, Naples, Fla.; nine great-grandchildren, Breanna Rayl, Addie Rayl, Gabrielle Rayl, Sophie Rayl, Cecelia Rayl, Nathan Rayl, Logan Rayl, Holden Rayl and Braxton Utsler; 14 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two brothers and five sisters.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church, 3530 N. 1000 West, Tipton. The Revs. Bob and Ruth Lawson will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stout and Son Funeral Home Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or VNS Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.stoutandson.com.
