Larry Fred Troxell, 70, Eaton, Ohio, and formerly of New Castle, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at the Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 9, 1943, in New Castle, the son of Emmett and Anna Lee Troxell Nichols.
He was a 1961 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He worked at Dana Corp. in New Castle for several years. He was a member of the U.A.W local 370 and Moose Lodge of New Castle.
Survivors include his father; wife, Catherine Troxell, Eaton, Ohio; two daughters, Asha (Brent) Goodnight, Kokomo, and Mia (Andrew) Hicks, Kokomo; two stepdaughters, Lori Tarr, Kokomo, Amy (Adam) Barber, Kokomo; two sisters, Linda (Mike) Whitehead, New Castle, and Edith (Ralph) Roberts, Daytona, Fla.; one brother, Monte Troxell, New Castle; seven grandchildren, Heidi (Charles) Lovett, Hannah (Rafael) Gonyea, Whitney Hicks, Madeline Barber, Adam Barber, Sean Tarr and Dillon Tarr; two great-grandchildren; two stepbrothers, Monte (Joan) Sewell, and Hartford City, Dewayne (Lynn) Sewell, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins; ex-wife, Diana Troxell; and a special cousin, Carl Troxell.
He was preceded in death by his mother; nephew, Derek Douglas; great-nephew, Derek Douglas II; great-great-nephew, Dusty McFalls.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marcum Community Funeral Home, with the Revs. Max Downs and Jeremy Tyner officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
