Feb. 18, 1948 - June 21, 2013
Patsy Ann Thompson, 65, Kokomo, passed away peacefully home to the Lord and her Heavenly family at 1:19 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born Feb. 18, 1948, in Bethpage, Tenn., to the late Dalton and Ella (Deckard) Bandy.
Patsy attended North Sumner School in Tennessee. At a young age, she met her late husband, Charles Weston Thompson, and they later became residents of Kokomo. Patsy and Weston spent 41 years together before his passing.
Patsy and Weston had three sons together, Charles Weston Thompson II, Charles Timothy Thompson and Charles William Stacy Thompson. Anyone who knew Patsy knew she devoted her life to “her boys.” Regardless of time, place or circumstance, she was always there for her sons to help in any way she could. On several occasions, Patsy would teasingly refer to herself as Ma Barker with a huge smile on her face. Patsy’s boys were her world.
Later in life, Patsy met her current husband, Charles Hancock, who survives. She and Chuck spent the last nine years together before Patsy’s untimely passing cut their time together short.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Hancock; two sons, Charlie and Stacy Thompson; siblings, Gerald Bandy, Sheila Blankenship, Janie Quinn, David Bandy, Lee Bandy and Tonya Mossholder; an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will forever be loved and missed by many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Weston Thompson; son, Timothy Thompson; and sister, Louann Bandy.
In keeping with Patsy’s and her family’s wishes, there will not be any funeral services. There will be a celebration of her life amongst her close friends and family following her cremation. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirley andstout.com.
