Robert F. Rayl, 89, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Morgantown Health Care. He was born Sept. 14, 1923, to John F. and Rose Mary (Jacquer) Rayl in Kokomo, Ind. On Sept. 30, 1945, he married Marjorie A. (Schultz) Rayl at First Baptist Church. They were married for 67 years. He joined the United States Navy on Feb. 14, 1943, till April 4, 1946. He worked for the Kokomo Tribune for 45 years.
He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Kokomo, the Gideon’s International of the Camp of Kokomo, and the International Printers Union for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two sons, David and Jan Rayl, and Daniel and Linda Rayl; three grandchildren, Shawn and Vickie Rayl, Missy and Scott Maggard, Eric and Tonia Robison; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Stan Zurcher, and Pastor Elizabeth Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites provided by the United States Navy, and the local VFW Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 1 until 3 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
