Martha B. Paul, 93, Tipton, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born in Tipton, on May 4, 1919, to Floyd and Gulila (German) Cooper. On April 18, 1936, Martha married Gene Paul, and they had celebrated 73 years of marriage together before his passing on July 10, 2009.
Martha had attended both East Union Christian Church and Normanda Christian Church over the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, needlework, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She had worked at Cooper’s Home Furnishings in Tipton for many years.
Her survivors include her son and his wife, Bill and Connie (Overdorf) Paul; two granddaughters, Kathi Chitty and Carole (Alan) Lentz; six great-granddaughters, Brittany (Dustin) Doversberger, Briar (Gary) Fredrick, Caitlin (Nathan) Haley, Cambie (Mike) Loren, Megan (Patrick) Morrow, and Jessy Lentz; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Beth Woolery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and four brothers. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home, 726 E. North St., Tipton. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Porter’s with Pastor Rex Dunning officiating. Interment will take place following services in Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.
