Norma R. Smallwood, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Northwoods Village. She was born the daughter of Bertis and Trula (Burnett) Ford on March 2, 1928, in Kokomo. On Jan. 21, 1950, she married Philip A. Smallwood in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1980.
Norma was a 1946 graduate of Kokomo High School and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Sunshine Extension Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Sullivan, Kokomo, Mrs. Willliam R. (Candace) Crowley, Kokomo, Karen Smallwood, Kokomo, and Laura Joyal, Kokomo; son, Robert P. Smallwood, Kokomo; granddaughter, Heather Sullivan, Kokomo; sister, Barbara Nichols, Kokomo; and brother, John Ford, Erwin, Tennessee.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes, a memorial service will be at a later date. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, assisted the family with arrangements.
