Edwin W. “Ed” Grist, 68, Monticello, passed away at 3:07 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his wife and daughter. Ed bravely battled cancer for more than 35 years. He was born Dec. 14, 1945, in Kokomo to the late Edwin B. and Anna (McCoy) Grist. On Nov. 15, 1996, at the Christian Church in Tetersburg, he married Christenia “Teny” Grist, and she survives.

He was a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and was past president of the Indiana Chapter. He was also a member of the Monticello Chamber of Commerce, Monticello Kiwanis Club, Lafayette Realtors Association and also the White County Board of Realtors.

He enjoyed remodeling houses in his spare time. He enjoyed the lake, his Corvette, his Harley Davidson, and most of all he cherished his family and time spent with them.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Teny, is his daughter, Mollie Putman (fiancé, Adam Stanley), Monticello; a sister, Jimmie Riddle, Ocala, Florida; and three grandchildren, Madelyn, Lillian and Hannah.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Max Grist Sr.
