Christine (Chris) Anne George

Oct. 25, 1941 - July 10, 2014

Christine (Chris) Anne George, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 10:04 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014, after her long and hard battle with breast cancer. Chris was born on Oct. 25, 1941, in Plattsburgh, New York, to Ruth (LaPoint) Blood and Raymond Blood. On Feb. 25, 1977, she married Marc S. George, her beloved husband who preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2003.

She was raised by her loving and devoted grandparents, Regina and Frederick LaPoint. In June 1970, she moved to Kokomo, Indiana, where she resided for the past 44 years.

Chris dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Her mission in life was to serve and to love, and to connect people with God by sending out the message of Jesus Christ through her service at her churches. She was first a member of Fairlawn United Brethren/Morning Star Church and was involved with the Children’s Ministry programs, the Morning Star Choir and the Morning Star Trio, where she used her beautiful voice to sing praises unto the Lord. Chris then became a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she finished out her service to the Lord. She was very involved in the Music & Worship Ministries, was a member of the Celebration Choir, the Jubilation Ensemble and the Praise Hand Bell Ringers. She also served in the Children’s Ministries where she taught Sunday School and had been one of the Children’s Choir Directors. Chris’s other passion was ministering to little ones, the precious little babies. She was employed for the past 11 years at Crossroads Childcare and Learning Center in the Infant Nursery where she loved and nurtured many babies. She was an avid reader and she loved taking care of her flowers.

Chris is survived by her children, Holly (Manfredi) Culp and her husband, Shad Culp of Boca Raton, Florida, Gregg Manfredi, Kokomo, Eric (Tina) Manfredi, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Scott George, Indianapolis, Amber George, Kokomo, and Brett (Monica Gavala) George; grandchildren, David Marshall, Franklin, Tennessee, Bradley (Amanda) Marshall, Papillion, Nebraska, Cole (Chelsea) Marshall, Indianapolis, Isabella Manfredi, Kokomo, Mia and Tristan Manfredi, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Devin George, Kokomo, and Cassandra Gavala-George, Seattle, Washington; step-grandchildren, Kale Culp, Indianapolis, Kyle (Jessica) Culp, stationed in the U.S. Navy, Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and Andy (Ashley) Culp, Indianapolis; great-granddaughters, Amelia Christine Marshall, Papillion, Nebraska, and Audrey Denise Culp, Indianapolis; brother, Michael (Delisa) Cogan, Acton, California; mother in-law, Janet L.
