Wayne H. Keisling

Nov. 18, 1919 - June 8, 2014

Wayne H. Keisling, 94, Kokomo, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at HCR Manor Care at Summer Trace in Carmel. He was born on Nov. 18, 1919, in western Howard County, to the late Lloyd and Ruby (Hunter) Keisling. At a very young age, Ruby passed away. Wayne was raised by Olyve (Burns) Keisling.

Wayne graduated with the Class of 1938, after which he attended General Motor Institute. Wayne was a sports fanatic. Some of his passions were raising standard bred horses and FOX news. But nothing was as important to him as his family. He truly loved his family. Wayne was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge No. 190, and Northwestern Lions Club. He volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and was secretary and treasurer of Shiloh Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Roger (Nancy) Keisling, Statesboro, Georgia, and Gayle (Al) Duckett, Carmel; brother, Marion (Jaye) Keisling, Bradenton, Florida; sister, Carmen Elliott, Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, Beth Tiffany-Walker, Erin (Rusty) Hensley, David Tiffany, Robyn (Scott) Radeker, Stacey (Lisa) Keisling and Amanda (Sam) Blackwood; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Park; and great-grandchild, Britany Bohrer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with the Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions in Wayne’s memory may be made to Heartland Hospice, with envelopes provided at the mortuary. You are invited to read Wayne’s obituary at www.ellersmortuary.com where you may sign the guest book, share a personal message or order flowers for the family. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
