Don L. Bottom, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 4:54 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Kokomo, to the late William and Zelma (Mann) Bottom. On June 15, 1956, in Kokomo, he married Patsy (Markley) Bottom, and she survives.
Don retired from the United States Postal Service in 1990 after 30 years of loyal service. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Local 2053. Don enjoyed fishing, and was known to be passionate about his lawn. He also enjoyed all sports, and was a big fan of both sprint-car racing and the Chicago Bears. He attended Judson Road Christian Church.
Surviving is his wife, Patsy Bottom; a son, Bill Bottom; grandson, Trent Bottom; and brother, Harold Bottom and wife, Vickie, all of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Don Bottom Jr.; and a brother, Ed Bottoms.
Funeral services will be at noon Monday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo, with Dr. Gary Carpenter officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, also at the mortuary.
