Betty Louise Searle, 82, Kokomo, was placed in the hands of the Lord at 9:07 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, from St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Oct. 10, 1929, in Tipton County, she was the daughter of the late Grancy “Jack” M. Lee and Alice L. (Jarrett) Lee. On April 15, 1951, in Normanda Christian Church, Tipton County, she married Winfield F. Searle. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1983.
She was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School. She was a homemaker and also worked in the kitchen at Sycamore Middle School.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda D. Searle-Dowd and husband Steve, Kokomo; grandchildren, Tamera M. Clark and Kerry Tyler, Arrington, Tenn., Chad M. Phillips, Kokomo, Kevin L. (wife Bryanne) Phillips, Indianapolis, Kyler A. Berry, Orlando, Fla., Brianna E. Dowd-Salinas and husband Mark, Frankfort; two great-grandchildren, Marcos A. Salinas and Alexis M. Salinas; and also her very special friend, Cleon Waggoner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Terri L. Searle-Berry, and a sister, Phyllis M. Cauble.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. Pastor Nancy Blevins will officiate. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
