Tania A. Robeson, 65, Carmel, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Tania was born Jan. 8, 1949, in Kokomo.
She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1967, Indiana State University in 1970 and received her master’s degree in 1971 from Indiana State University.
Tania dedicated her life to education, inspiring students for four decades with her passion for learning and love for each of them. Most recently, Tania was a special-education teacher from 1985 to 2013 in the Kokomo School system, where she encouraged students to achieve their greatest potential and made a lasting impact on many lives.
Tania’s love of life and her warm and welcoming soul is her legacy.
She is survived by her children, Matthew J. (wife, Kristi M.) Slane and Amy A. (husband, Jeffrey L.) Miller; grandchildren, Mia E. Slane, Parker B. Slane, Katelyn M. Slane, Margaret A. Miller and Charles R. Miller; father, Charles E. Robeson; and countless lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alyce E. Robeson; and brother, Lance E. Middlekauff.
A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, of which she was a member. Friends and family are invited to gather from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel.
