April 24, 1932 - March 24, 2013

Victor F. Fuller Sr., 80, Sharpsville, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Victor was born April 24, 1932, in Sharpsville to Victor S. and Dorotha P. (Colvin) Fuller, who both preceded him in death. On June 28, 1956, he married Bonnie L. (McDaniel) Fuller in Kokomo at the United Church of the Brethren, and they had been married 56 years.

Victor graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1950. He went into the U.S. Army in 1956, serving three years prior to his discharge in 1959. Victor retired from Stellite in Kokomo in 1973 after 23 years of service to the company. After a short retirement, he went to work at Steel Parts in Tipton in 1975 and retired in 1990. He also had worked at Horton’s True Value in Tipton.

Victor was a member of Rock Prairie Baptist Church, where he had served as an elder and taught Sunday school. Other memberships include Ducks Unlimited, Wyoming Wildlife Association and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Victor always put family first, he was an avid conservationist and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Since 1961, he had made trips to Wyoming as often as possible just to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Each year he put out a large garden making sure everyone had plenty of fruits and vegetables to make it through the summer. If there was any surplus, it would be canned and put up for later.

Victor was an avid photographer who also had interests in both Indiana University and Notre Dame athletics, NASCAR and researching Indiana history. He was described as a “lifelong learner” as well as the mayor of Slakem.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Fuller, Sharpsville; five children, Vic Fuller Jr. and wife Chris, Plainfield, Terri Lynn Hardy and husband Michael, South Bend, Michele Ann Baxter and husband Dirk, Sharpsville, Doug Fuller and wife Brenda, Elwood, and Kim Pearson, Sharpsville; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandi Springfield and husband Dan, Arkansas, Bonnie Hamilton, Bloomington; and a brother, David Fuller, Kokomo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karla Summers; two sons-in-law, Michael Summers and Denny Pearson; and a brother, Steven Fuller.

Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Rock Prairie Baptist Church, 421 Ash St., Tipton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with Pastor Kevin Carr officiating. Interment will take place in the Sharpsville Cemetery.
