Mable L. Webster

Sept. 10, 1930 - March 25, 2013

Mable Lucille Webster, 82, passed away at 4:48 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette. She was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Kokomo, the daughter of Huston and Anna (Herrington) Brown. On Oct. 21, 1948, she married Garlan Webster in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2008.

Mable was a 1948 graduate of Kokomo High School and studied business at Indiana University Kokomo for two years. She had worked at Chrysler as a secretary for over 17½ years, retiring in 1989. Her memberships included Bethany Baptist Church in Deputy and Trinity United Methodist in Kokomo. She was an avid reader who enjoyed singing in the church choir, knitting, crocheting, gardening, travel and spending time with her family. She recently relocated to Monticello in order to spend more time with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Garlan Neil (Kay) Webster, Springfield, Ohio; daughters, Karen Gail (Michael) Pursley, Indianapolis, and Patricia Kay Sharp, Monticello; grandson, James C. Sharp; great-granddaughter, Monica M. Sharp, Monticello; grandson, Craig A. Sharp (Alycia Johnson), along with her children, Harley and Ryanna;  great-grandchildren, Ian Sharp, Adrianne Sharp, Madden Sharp, Monticello; sisters, Clara M. Wilson, Rochester, M. Louise Kinder, Kokomo, Rebecca A. Franklin, Gallatin, Tenn., and Sarah J. Preston, Lerna, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 60 years, and son-in-law, Delbert Sharp.

A committal service will be held at a later date at Bethany Baptist Cemetery in Deputy. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road assisted the family with arrangements.
