Barbara E. Hilligoss, 93, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Morristown Manor Nursing Home, Morristown. She was born Jan. 25, 1920, in Tipton County, the daughter of Chester Arthur Hilligoss, and Maude (Gross) Hilligoss.
She had worked for the Adams Photography Studio in Kokomo as a photographic color artist. In 1951, she was called into the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ and labored there for nearly 60 years, first in Michigan, and then in Illinois, Kentucky, New Mexico and Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Rolden G. Hilligoss, Thomas W. Hilligoss, C. Wilbur Hilligoss and Everett E. Hilligoss; and one sister, Thelma (Hilligoss-Nicol) Wallace.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and a multitude of loyal co-workers and friends.
Ellers Mortuary is handling arrangements. A viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tri-Central Middle/High School Auditorium in Tipton County, 2115 W. 500 North. There will be a viewing at the high school from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be conducted by Jeff Thayer, Janet Nicol and Sharon Carrol. A graveside service will be conducted by Dennis Kinnan and Jeffrey Vogelzang. Burial will be in the Normanda Cemetery.
