Denver R. Walker, 61, Kokomo, formerly of Ridge Farm, Ill., passed away at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Century Villa Health Care. He was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Danville, Ill., the son of Denver Ralph and Sarah (Walthall) Walker. On June 7, 1997, he married Cynthia L. “Cindy” Hultz from Veedersburg, and she survives him.
Denver was a 1970 graduate of Ridge Farm High School and attended Danville Junior College for two years. He went on to pursue his apprenticeship to be an electrician at GM Central Foundry in Danville. He transferred to Delco in Kokomo in 1995 and retired in 2001. He enjoyed hunting in Illinois, Alaska and Wyoming, along with his guide and friend, Dale. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling out west. He was also a tremendous and talented cook.
His memberships included the Elk Foundation and NRA. He loved his chihuahua, Spud.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; brother, John (Dee Ann) Walker, Grand Island, Neb.; sister-in-law, Linda Hultz-Gorman, Georgia; two nieces; his best friend, Bob Hall; and his beloved dog, Spud.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., with Wilma Ausbrook officiating.
