Max Lee Stover, 69, Kokomo, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Nov. 3, 1943, in Elwood, to Leonard and Thelma (Delawter) Stover. On July 1, 1995, he married Mary (Dowden) Stover, and she survives.
He worked at Chrysler, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, sports and bowling, and was proud of the fact that he bowled a perfect game once. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael (Billie) Stover; daughter, Jennifer Boettjer; stepdaughter, Robin (Adam) Smith; stepson, Bobby (Vicki) Rodgers; grandchildren, Bethany Ferguson, Jamie Wright, Madison Stover, Kaycee Stover, Kylun Scott, Brylee Boettjer, Jordyn Ramey, Hannah Smith, Misti Rodgers, Josh Rodgers, Cassie Karney, Ethan Austgen, and Ryan Austgen; great-grandchildren, Shailynn Ewing, Urijah Erb, Josiah Erb, Aaliyah Wright, and Carter; and brothers, Raymond Stover and Edward Stover.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Stover; and daughter, Lisa Austgen.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
