Mary Jo Walker, 86, Galveston, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Caring Hands Healthcare Center, Peru. Born Feb. 17, 1927, in Howard County, she was the daughter of Herman and Orean (Walker) Amos. She was married Feb. 14, 1947, in Galveston, to Harry Walker Jr., who survives.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Walker Jr., Galveston; son, Jerry and Donna Walker, Galveston; daughter, Jill and Alvin Mennen, Walton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Davis, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Galveston Cemetery, with the Rev. Roy Ice officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston.
