---- — LaVera Lorane Davis, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at her residence. Born Oct. 4, 1927, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Lester Kline and Glydes (Kiger) Kline. On Feb. 1, 1948, in Kokomo, she married Richard Edward Davis. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1967.
She had worked at Kokomo High School, Cuneo Press, Delco, and Green Thumb Daycare. She was a member of ABWA, Over-the-hill Bowling League and the Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to band concerts at Highland Park in the summer.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda (Mark) Hill, Greendale; one sister, Martha Sullivan, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Lorane Ellis, Robert (Laura) Staley, Melissa (Kip) Bloomhorst and Stephanie (Joshua) Thomas; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Ellen Kline and Betty Albertini.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crown Point Cemetery. Chaplain Robin Wentworth Mayer will officiate. Burial of cremains will follow.
