---- — Alvin S. “Sonny” Adams Sr., 69, Marion, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his home. He was born in Fowlerton to the late Irving and Margaret (Shattack) Adams. He married the love of his life, Phyllis A. Caudill, Feb. 26, 1965, in Fairmount. She survives.

He enjoyed his younger years lifting weights, boxing for the fun of it with his friends, jogging, baseball, hunting, fishing and coaching his sons’ baseball teams. He and his wife enjoyed bicycling, taking long walks, traveling and hanging out at Bob Evans, where everyone referred to him as “Dad.” He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Sonny was a dad and special uncle to all.

He loved telling his family and friends funny stories. He always found humor in his life. He was a great storyteller and never tired of reliving stories of days gone by. Sonny was a true man of God. He retired from General Motors (Fisher Body), Marion, where he worked as a press operator.
