DeVaughn Maurice Penick Jr., 77, formerly of Kokomo, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Panama City, Fla. Mr. Penick Jr. was a retiree from General Motors, Delco Electronics Division. He was a United States Army veteran, who served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Mr. Penick Jr. was an avid golfer.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Melva J. Penick, Panama City, Fla.; stepson, Brian Hogan, Kokomo; daughters, Debra L. Miles (Jesse), Tennessee, Kathleen R. Hollis (Marvin), Farmington Hills, Mich., Donna M. Rodgers, Southfield, Mich.; stepdaughters, Ahronda James (Timothy), Pelham, Alabama; Drasadria Hogan, Kokomo; brother, Lowell S. Wiggins, Kokomo; grandson, Remele Penick; several other grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kokomo, with Pastor G. Victor Morrisey as the officiant and eulogist.
