Brittani Mona Brown, 24, Indianapolis, passed away suddenly early in the morning Wednesday, July 24, 2013. She was born at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, on July 7, 1989, to Sabina and William (Tony) Brown.
She was a student at IUPUI, majoring in biochemistry after deciding to switch majors from business administration. Brittani graduated from San Diego High School with a prestigious International Baccalaureate degree, and was a member of the Youth Leadership Team at the Urban League of San Diego County. She received numerous academic achievement awards and was a top-notch student.
Brittani is survived by both parents; her precious daughter, Kaia Mona Crummel; three brothers, Craig (Rosa), Reginald (Demi) and Jason (Melissa) Brown, all of San Diego; one nephew, Antonio; an aunt, Shirley (Curlean) Bryant; two cousins, Rasheda and Jarryd Bryant, all of Everett, Wash.; an uncle, Charles Saffore, Kokomo; a cousin, Jeffery (Beth) Killings; cousin, Taylor Killings, all of Kokomo. She also leaves behind many very special friends in Kokomo and the city she absolutely loved – San Diego.
Brittani was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; two aunts, Leoro Saffore and Marvetta Killings; and a cousin, Valerie Saffore.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Robert A. Lee will be the officiant and eulogist.
