Shirley Ann Davis, 76, Kokomo, passed away at 5:52 p.m., Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Caring Hands Health and Rehab. She was born July 6, 1936, in Kokomo, to the late Clifford and Oleta (Livingston) McCoy.
Shirley lived with her grandparents, Ralph and Georgia Livingston. She attended Kokomo High School. Shirley worked in the health care profession as a nurse’s assistant for more than 15 years. The most important achievement in her life, though, was her children and grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, and going fishing. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to New Hope Hospice, and the staff at Caring Hands Health and Rehab.
She is survived by her five children, Kenny (Deb) Taylor Jr., Bunker Hill, Norma (John) Nantroup, Kokomo, Mike (Sandy) Abney, Russiaville, Bobby Abney, Marion, Jill (Jamie) Bieber, Kokomo; grandchildren, Matt Hayden, Lindsay Nantroup, Jeremy (Lori) Bieber, Jesse Bieber (Alli Padrick), Jennifer Bieber, Misty (Josh) Becraft, Teri Melton (Adam Buffum), Brandon Jolly, Darin Abney, and Bo Abney; niece, Patricia (Junior) Thorpe, Galveston; nephews, George (Toni) Slaughter, Frankfort, James (Nadine) Slaughter, Plainfield; several great-grandchildren, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Nead; grandson, Chad Abney; and nephew, Steven Slaughter.
