Darrell G. King, 53, Russiaville, passed away at 2:41 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at his home. Darrell was born Aug. 16, 1959, in Kokomo, to Marley and Dolly (Kronenberg) King. On Oct. 11, 1980, he married Lisa Brown, who survives.
Darrell was a member of First Congregational Church. He worked for Data Monitoring as a hazmat specialist for 12 years. Darrell retired from the Army National Guard after 24 years of service. He was the lead singer for “Sneaker” band for over 20 years. Darrell was also a youth baseball coach for Russiaville Little League for Waddells and Pizza Hut teams and in Babe Ruth baseball team Hobson. He was an avid hunter, mushroom hunter, and he loved fishing and IU basketball. His favorite places to vacation were at Gulf Shores and Indiana Rocks. Darrell also like to ride his Harley around.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa King, Russiaville; sons, Jarred (Megan) King and Joel (Christy Miller fiancé) King both of Russiaville; daughter, Jade King, Kokomo; sisters, Linda (Art) Fross, Kokomo, and Denise (Ray) Mundy, Kokomo; brother and sister in-law, Chad (Julie) Malott; two grandchildren, Maylee Ann and Molly Sue King; two future granddaughters, Kiersten and Rylynn; special friends, Larry Grider and George Wainscott.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with the Rev. Jon Tice officiating. Burial will follow at Russiaville Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Russiaville. Online condolences may be left at www.stoutandson.com.
