George R. “Bob” Ehrman, 85, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. He was born on Oct. 5, 1927, in Howard County, to George L. and Eva N. (Newlin) Ehrman. Bob married Velma (Conwell) on Feb. 26, 1950, and she survives.
Bob was a 1945 graduate of Clay High School and was a self-employed carpenter for more than 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Bob was a youth leader and Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years, a member of Faith Church of Christ in Burlington, and had been a chairman of Child Evangelism Fellowship. He was in a traveling quartet group, loved to sing and play the trumpet. He was great at woodcarving and woodworking. Bob was avid about his love for Jesus, and his goal in life was to lead people he met to Heaven.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Ehrman, Kokomo; daughters, Teresa Vaughn, Kokomo, Jennifer (Daniel) Phillips, Russiaville; son, Timothy (Deidra) Ehrman, Flora; sister, Betty (Robert) Maletich, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kelby Vaughn, Aaron Causey, Leanne Rich, Reyna Ehrman, Emma Ehrman.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Faith Church of Christ, 1701 Michigan St., Burlington, with Steve Cole officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. A private burial will take place at Barnett Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Faith Church of Christ or Child Evangelism Fellowship, with envelopes available at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stout & Son Funeral Home, Burlington.
