Berniece Roberta Boyer Mangel passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, in Athens, Ga. A family service was held in Athens.

She was born Aug. 5, 1918, and was the daughter of Vergile Gertrude Goodknight Boyer and William Howard Boyer of Tipton.

Berniece was married to Harold Wilson Mangel Jan. 2, 1943, at the University Church in West Lafayette. Harold Mangel passed away in 1998. They resided in Sarasota, Fla. and Kokomo.

She graduated from Kempton High School in 1935.

She graduated from Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences in 1940 with A.B. degree in English with minors in Latin and physical education.

She was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Kokomo. She was a member of Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, Fla. and Kokomo Country Club in Kokomo.

Her interests included playing in various bridge groups in Sarasota and Kokomo and playing golf in Sarasota and Kokomo.

Susan Louise Mangel Woosnam, daughter, survives with daughters, Cynthia Ketchum and Elizabeth Woosnam and their families.

John Howard Mangel , son, survives with his wife, Elizabeth Miller, son, Andrew Mangel, daughters, Sally Hoerner and Katherine Mitchell and their families.

The family was assisted by Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
