Dr. Chang Han Yun, 70, Kokomo, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his residence. He was born March 1, 1944, in Taegu, South Korea, to the late Ho Won Yun and Chae Kee (Lee) Yun. He married Jang (Lee) Yun on May 20, 1972, in Korea.
Dr. Yun graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine in 1968. He practiced medicine for 35 years in Kokomo with both Howard Regional Health Systems and St. Joseph Hospitals. He enjoyed taking care of his patients and the needs of the local community. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Jang; two daughters, Suzette (Tom) Stapleton and Laura (Justin Mao) Yun, both of Chicago; a son, Michael (Aiste) Yun, Boston, Mass.; four grandchildren, Sydney Stapleton, Samantha Stapleton, Andrew Mao and Sabrina Mao, all of Chicago; three brothers; and two sisters, all of South Korea.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with the Rev. Hyung Howard Kim officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. at the mortuary. A graveside service will be Monday at Clarendon Hill Cemetery in Darien, Ill.
